Tap Into Your Inner Feminine Power After 40

Why is it important to tap into your inner feminine power? How can being in your lingerie in front of a complete stranger ( me the boudoir photographer ) be empowering?

We have so many tasks in our lives as mothers, wives, entrepreneurs, cooks, cleaners, drivers, lovers, and the list goes on and on. Somewhere along that list we forget to put ourselves and we no longer tap into our gift of being women and feeling and empowering our femininity and sensuality. So you may ask what is so powerful of being photographed in your underwear?

It’s not really about photography it’s about the experience of waking up that woman again or showing her something she might never have seen or felt before about herself.

Most of my clients come to the studio to create a gift for their significant other. Little though they know that the biggest gift of doing this was for themselves.

Corinne a local San Diego resident was in my Carlsbad photography studio last week and saw her pictures for the first time. We shared some champagne, laughter, and tears as we celebrate ourselves as mature women over 50. To backtrack Corinne is French and has been happily married for 25 years and wanted to do this as a gift for her husband. Little did she realize that the biggest gift was to herself to find that woman that we so often forget. When we unpacked her bag for the shoot I smiled and said are you sure you are French? There was a lot of cotton underwear and the erotic factor was left at the Target check out.

We laughed and I said we need a new plan. We went through my studio wardrobe and we pulled out some pieces that she felt comfortable with. After a little champagne a lot of talking and laughing we had a great session and these images were some of my favorites.

After our viewing session, I received this email from Corinne and this makes my job such a pleasure knowing that you can make a difference in someone’s life.

It’s Corinne, the woman with the incredibly sad undies (makes me laugh every single time I think about it. My little bag was so unbefitting for a French woman. I really have no excuses.)
