4 Ways Your Brand May Be Holding You Back

Share

Your brand is what your customers think of you and represents your organization. It’s more than just a logo or a tagline—it’s about how you communicate with the world, what makes you unique, and how people perceive your company.

But sometimes, businesses need to dedicate more time to their branding.

Here are four ways that could be holding you back from being an excellent brand:

You’re not creating a logo and branding standards

A logo is a visual representation of your brand. It should be unique, memorable, and consistent across all platforms, whether on your website or business cards.

Creating a logo that’s easy to read and understand is essential in creating an effective identity for your brand. A great way to start is by avoiding clip art or stock images; these elements can make it difficult for customers to identify with you as an individual or company.

Instead, create something original that has its style while still being recognizable as part of your overall brand identity.

You’re not using clear, professional photography

You need professional-quality photos. This is true for any business. Investing in lifestyle branding photos and headshots can make your brand’s visual appearance stand out. Be front and center, so you don’t have to use stock images to tell your story!

Personal Branding Photography is telling the story of your Brand and company through magazine-quality photos. We often say that the ‘face’ of the company is one of the most vital roles one can have. But, unfortunately, you only have ONE first impression– the introduction that can make or break meetings and deals and attract your perfect client.

You aren’t using high-quality fonts and colors consistently

You can easily avoid this by having a consistent font and color palette.

  • Use a font that’s easy to read
  • Pick colors that are easy on the eyes and relevant to the psychology of your brand

It’s worth it to invest the time in getting your branding right

You want people to recognize your brand and have confidence in what you do so that they’ll be more likely to buy from you. A consistent visual identity will make it easier for people who see your work on social media or elsewhere online to recognize that it’s from you, which also helps build trust with them.

Your branding should also make you stand out from the crowd: if everyone uses white text on black backgrounds, try something different!

Your brand should reflect what makes you unique as an individual or business–and if there are any keywords or phrases associated with how people see/think about what type of person/company/product etc., then make sure those words appear everywhere!

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the idea of creating a brand, don’t worry. It’s not easy but it will pay off in the long run.

We know from experience how much time and energy it takes to create a brand from scratch–and how much easier it is once you have one. So trust us when we say that if you take these four steps seriously, your business will be able to grow faster than ever before!
